Film Double Feature of Visually Stunning Baraka and Samsara
Two of the most visually powerful films ever made are presented in a double feature with producer Mark Magidson hosting a discussion. Baraka is a 1992 film inspired by the Sufi word meaning "breath of life." A mind-bending spiritual journey around the world, this dialogue-free film leaps off the screen with a barrage of beautiful 70mm images. Samsara, which was filmed over a period of five years and shot in 25 countries before its release in 2011 is the spiritual sequel to Baraka. Inspired by the Sanskrit word meaning "the ever-turning wheel of life," this film takes us to sacred grounds, disaster zones and natural wonders, leaving the ancient and modern worlds to viewer interpretation.
