Two of the premier bluegrass musicians on the West Coast, Laurie Lewis and John Reischman, come together for a night of contemporary roots music under the stars at the Ford Amphitheatre. Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and fiddle player Laurie Lewis has been called "one of the preeminent bluegrass and Americana artists of our time" by the International Bluegrass Music Association. Drawing on her deep knowledge of the genre, she has crafted a sound that is at once traditional and new. She's even accompanied bluegrass pioneer Ralph Stanley. Mandolin player John Reischman filled David Grisman's substantial shoes when he was asked to join the Tony Rice Unit, becoming a key figure in the new acoustic movement of the late '70s. Since then Resichman has recorded as a solo act and with his band the Jaybirds. He's collaborated with such greats as Chris Thile, Tony Trischka and Tony Furtado, among many others.
