Rising Stars Hana Kim, Lucy Schwartz & More Perform Benefit Concert
Some of Southern California's hottest rising talents, including Lucy Schwartz, Hana Kim, Hotel Cinema, Belmont Lights and Jane Lui, come together at the Ford Amphitheatre for a special benefit concert for Saving Innocence. With songs like "When We Were Young" and "I Don't Know a Thing," Lucy Schwartz's music has been featured on numerous TV shows and movies, such as Parenthood, Grey's Anatomy and Twilight. She's also toured with Lilith Fair, alongside Sarah McLachlan and Sheryl Crow. Sometimes compared to the likes of Adele and Norah Jones for her mix of soulful singing and poppy tunes, Hana Kim brings powerful performances to her colorful lyrics. L.A.'s Hotel Cinema layers intricate orchestration of electronic sounds beneath alluring melodies for a unique and haunting sound. From San Diego, the pop-rock band Belmont Lights regularly rocks major L.A. venues like the House of Blues, the Roxy and the Troubadour and festivals like South by Southwest. Citing Tori Amos and Björk as influences, singer-songwriter Jane Lui has opened for such artists as Jason Mraz, and was the winner of the 2008 Kollaboration. This night of music, art and discussion will raise money for Saving Innocence, a nonprofit whose mission is to rescue child victims of sex trafficking.
