Bathrooms for our bench seating were behind and to the left. The line gets long, but moves fast. It also helps if the men are aware that their bathroom is just beyond the women's so they don't have to wait in the same line with us. This happened, but once they were informed and left the women's line, the line went even faster. :)

It was marvelous. The musicians and Jennifer KOO excellent. The Russian Masters is not our most beloved music, but the evening at the Hollywood Bowl is magic.

Quotes & Highlights

Violinist Jennifer Koh plays the Janus-faced Concerto that Prokofiev wrote during the revolutionary upheavals of 1917.

Description

Program:

Prokofiev: Violin Concerto No. 2

Shostakovich: Symphony No. 10

Fearless, Grammy-nominated virtuosa Jennifer Koh plays Prokofiev’s popular Violin Concerto No. 2 with its touches of Russian and Spanish folk culture. Shostakovich’s Tenth Symphony, a tragic musical portrait of the Stalin years that was premiered after the dictator’s death, concludes with a moment of triumph. Noted conductor and scholar Leon Botstein leads this rich, all-Russian program.
