Back for yourself, less to carry, each have his or hers items in their cooler ,or lunch basket.Bring a little extra to share with those around you. Example, bag of grapes, string cheese, cracker, 8 piece chicken. I shared my ribs, and wine with those near me.

It was marvelous. The musicians and Jennifer KOO excellent. The Russian Masters is not our most beloved music, but the evening at the Hollywood Bowl is magic.

Quotes & Highlights

Violinist Jennifer Koh plays the Janus-faced Concerto that Prokofiev wrote during the revolutionary upheavals of 1917.

Description

Program:

Prokofiev: Violin Concerto No. 2

Shostakovich: Symphony No. 10

Fearless, Grammy-nominated virtuosa Jennifer Koh plays Prokofiev’s popular Violin Concerto No. 2 with its touches of Russian and Spanish folk culture. Shostakovich’s Tenth Symphony, a tragic musical portrait of the Stalin years that was premiered after the dictator’s death, concludes with a moment of triumph. Noted conductor and scholar Leon Botstein leads this rich, all-Russian program.
