In Sarah Ruhl's wildly imaginative comedy adventure full of brilliant insight into the ways technology affects our lives, a woman named Jean is enjoying the peaceful ambiance of an otherwise quiet café when, suddenly, she's assaulted by the incessant ringing of a cell phone at the next table. Horrified to discover that the phone's owner is dead, Jean answers it -- and soon finds herself dating the dead man's brother, sharing Cosmopolitans with his widow, and meeting his mistress for a mysterious rendezvous. The show, which won the Helen Hayes Award for Best New Play, premiered off-Broadway in 2008 and comes to Houston courtesy of Mildred's Umbrella Theater Company.
