Live Music at Don the Beachcomber
Don the Beachcomber is an icon of Southern California history -- a little slice of the South Pacific, right on the water in Huntington Beach. Built in 1937 by former bootlegger Ernest Gantt, Don the Beachcomber was one of America's first tiki bars, serving an exotic selection of tropical rum-based drinks to patrons who included the likes of Charlie Chaplin and Howard Hughes. To this day, the only thing more powerful than the drinks behind the bar are the performances on the three stages throughout the venue. From swing to country, rockabilly to regular old rock, Don the Beachcomber is the place to be for live roots music in a tropical setting.
