Two Rooms: Nervy Hostage Drama Puts Love & Life on the Line
Two Rooms contains multitudes. It is a thrilling hostage drama, a politically relevant look at terrorism and a moving meditation on the love between a husband and wife. Coming from Pulitzer Prize nominee Lee Blessing (A Walk in the Woods), Two Rooms centers on a windowless cubicle in Beirut and a room in a U.S. home. The former contains Michael, an American being held hostage by Arab terrorists; the latter's occupied by Michael's wife Lainie who has stripped the room of its furnishings so that she can "share" her partner's ordeal. What goes on in these rooms goes to the heart of faith, evil and the enduring uncertainties of life. Tina Tong, a member of the La Canada Presbyterian Church Drama Ministry, directs.
