Holed up in their grandaddy's house in Mississippi, the quirky MaGrath sisters are in the midst of yet another family drama in Crimes of the Heart. The youngest, Babe, has gone and shot her abusive husband. Eldest sister Lenny is becoming more of an old maid all the time (plus her pet horse was just struck by lightning), and middle sister Meg has suffered a nervous breakdown after seeing her dreams of a singing career dashed. The darkly hilarious Crimes of the Heart is filled with so many big laughs and touching moments that it snagged a NY Drama Critics Circle Award and a Pulitzer Prize. It was also made into a 1986 movie starring Diane Keaton, Jessica Lange and Sissy Spacek. Learn More

Join us in meeting the fine citizens of Greater Tuna as Lakewood Theatre kicks off summer with the rollicking comedy Greater Tuna, about Texas' third smallest town, where the Lion's Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies. The eclectic band of citizens that make up this town are portrayed by only two performers (Jay Randall Horenstein and Gary Brickner Schulz), making this satire on life in rural America even more delightful as they depict all of the inhabitants of Tuna — men, women, children and animals.
