While she's known best as the actress who starred in the iconic 1980s teen films The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink
and Sixteen Candles
, Molly Ringwald is today an accomplished jazz singer. With a smooth, silken voice she taps into her early influences in music and her life-long study of some of the great ladies of jazz, among them Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, Blossom Dearie and Susannah McCorkle She even throws in a jazzy cover of "Don't You (Forget About Me)," featured in The Breakfast Club
and sung in honor of John Hughes, to close the set. She's backed by her quartet consisting of Peter Smith on piano, Clayton Cameron on drums, Allen Mezquida on sax and Trevor Ware on bass.
