The promoter "claims" this to be like Tony & Tina's wedding. This is not so. Even thought the event is described as standing, I still was expecting to have tables like in Tony & Tina's wedding. We did get into it some but was lost on what was going on. We did get there a little late and missed getting our prom photo done. They had a photographer there taking photos throughout the event of people but did not have them for sale. They only had the prom pictures. I think they missed the mark somewhat by not playing any Madonna! The Michael Jackson impersonator saved the event. There seemed to be more actors than people attending the event. I had fun because that is just me but I think the staff needed to get more people on the dance floor. They did go around and stay in character. It just seemed something was missing from this production...Just can't put my finger on what it was.
Quotes & Highlights
Check out a video preview of The Awesome ’80s Prom.
Called “totally rad” by The New York Times, the Awesome ’80s Prom gives audiences a chance to mingle with characters from their favorite ’80s movies like The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink.
Guests will get footloose with the captain of the football team, flirt with the “bad boy,” and Wang Chung with the foreign exchange student, all to the “gnarliest” hits of the ’80s like “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go!” “Jessie’s Girl” and more! You’ll even vote for Prom King & Queen, just like in high school.
The interactive experience is also the perfect opportunity for bridesmaids to throw the ultimate bachelorette party. After all, “girls just wanna have fun,” right? So, dress up the bride-to-be in ’80s from head to toe complete with pale pink lipstick, crimped hair and over-sized bows and your party can top off the evening posing for an “awkward 80s prom photo.”
