Hailed as "the best musical of this century" by Ben Brantley of The New York Times and "the funniest musical of all time" by Entertainment Weekly, The Book of Mormon won nine Tony Awards -- including Best Musical -- in its first year on Broadway. Now the national touring production is back at the Pantages for a second round of hilarity. Written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone along with Robert Lopez, the Tony-winning co-creator of Avenue Q, this musical comedy is a show that The Daily Show's Jon Stewart has called "a crowning achievement. So good it makes me angry." Learn More

Bare is a beautiful and exciting musical, and this production is no exception. It is expertly staged and choreographed with very talented young performers who act and sing well. I saw an early performance (preview?) which was marred by sound design problems (instruments overwhelmed the singing and the story, and finally it all blew out for no sound system) but this is all fixable for future performances. For best view sit behind the first four rows (I moved), as it is loud and widely staged. Despite the early problems that are fixable, this is a must-see event for which the music and story are compelling and ultimately very moving as to how far we have come as a society, yet perhaps still have more to journey. Bravo to the performers and the producers for sharing this exquisite musical.

This play was absolutely wonderful! I laughed so hard at times and cried even harder. The acting was great, singing phenomenal, and the venue was impressive. I loved it so much I told more friends and I am going again with them this weekend!
Performance includes strobe lights, partial nudity and pulsating rock and roll music. Parental discretion is advised.
Bare premiered at the Hudson theatre in Los Angeles in October 2000.
