A dream cast of amazing talent working the stage with truly inventive scenic design to tell a story about love and family and home that covers the full range of humanity: from first love to painful goodbyes. This is a rarely staged musical, maybe...continued

I found the female and young boy voices offputting and left during the intermission, having found the story line not compelling enough to make me stay.

Entertaining but long and drawn out at times. The theme of relationships was enthralling and created self judgement in an individual. The cast was well put together and the voices were incredible. The young lad that played the son stole the show.

This was a unique musical to see with well written lyrics. I love going to see musical theatre and enjoyed this one.

If you're going to write a musical that is entirely sung, then there should be some actual melodies involved. There was not one memorable snippet of music. So the singing got to be more and more tedious -- despite some very fine voices -- as did...continued

This musical is so boring. The music really doesn't have any memorable songs or melodies. It's nothing like an Andrew Lloyd Webber production.
The characters barely speak words, they sing them in "Broadway voice."
And the little boy's voice is so...continued

I'm tired of going to the Ahmanson and watching plays about tragic family stories based on bad decision that people make. It seems that most of their plays are about broken families and homosexuals. I go to the theater to get entertained, not...continued

My memory is dim, but I seem to recall enjoying the show when I saw it on television a few years ago. That's what made me want to see it live on stage.

I was very disappointed. Last evening's show seemed like an endless string of recitatives,...continued

Despite enthusiastic performances by the cast members, the play lacked a story arc or build. The mother character was confusingly written and the others lacked dimension.

I love going to the Ahmanson especially when I only pay $49 for orchestra seats! This show was so moving! The characters and their relationships were very believable which meant as an audience member I really felt for them. I highly recommend...continued

Not your typical showtimes but nonetheless a great show. I hope that it would garner the attention it deserved. The last time it was at the Ahmanson, Glenn Close was playing Norma Desmond at the Schubert. All the attention was on the US opening of...continued

Very long, everything was done in song, but the songs were not memorable at all, it felt like one very long song. Also, the 2 acts didn't make sense together, considering it was 2 plays combined into one

Although the cast, that I saw, was extremely talented, I didn't enjoy the plot. It was confusing to me. I didn't stay past intermission. This is the 1st event that I didn't see through to the end.
