Los Angeles Int'l Flamenco Festival: Tempo de Luz
Tempo de Luz is an all-star show featuring some of the leading voices in Spain today, in a virtuosic display ranging from the gypsy roots of flamenco to modern innovations. Carmen Linares, the legendary grand female voice of flamenco cante jondo (deep song), has been celebrated over the world for the extraordinary expressive power of her voice. Meanwhile, Marina Heredia has earned praise for her mercurial, impassioned voice and versatile tenor Arcángel simultaneously captures the dark tension of all the best flamenco singers and transcends the genre's borders. This special evening will also feature outstanding dancer Ana Morales, former principal dancer of Ballet Flamenco de Andalucia. Composer Isidro Muñoz directs Tempo de Luz as it stomps into L.A.'s Wilshire Ebell Theatre.
