Very good play with relevance to Pope Francis today. Poirot's character's feelings of guilt seemed similar to Salieri's in Amadeus. Fairly predictable. Sheds light on a mostly ignored and little-known period in the papacy.

First 2/3rds of first act was slow. Once Pope John Paul I made an appearance the whole thing picked up and was quite engaging. The actor who played John Paul stole the show. Somehow David Suchet, who is so excellent as Poirot, was a little flat.
