The young, talented dancers of Marat Daukayev Ballet Theatre perform two of ballet's most lyrical works: Sleeping Beauty and Paquita. With a sumptuous score by Tchaikovsky, a fairy tale plot of the triumph of good over evil and classical courtly style, Sleeping Beauty is the ideal production for Marat Daukayev Ballet Theatre's accomplished student dancers. Paquita is Petipa's virtuosic 1881 ballet about a young girl who saves the life of a young French officer, who himself is the target of a Spanish governor who plots to have him killed. A much-loved ballet that showcases the talents of its soloists, Paquita's choreography includes the famous Grand Pas Classique, the Pas de Trois and the Children's Mazurka. Learn More

The overall production for its value made this a very lovely Nutcracker.
I found the dancing by the company to be terrific, even if there were some miscues. The Russian dancer did a magnificent job. I think the kid has a bright future if he chooses to continue in dance.
The set and production design was very nice and better than some larger Nutcracker productions I've seen over the years. This particular set of dancers were wonderful and I wish them the best of luck.
Also, there is just one thing I'd like to point out in attending live theater, leave your cell phone in your pocket/purse. I was seated next to someone who constantly had the urge to photograph the performers. Etiquette 101, do not be the distraction.
With all that said, if you have an opportunity to see the Marat Daukayev Ballet Theatre perform, I suggest you do so.
