Shadows Tribute Band: Songs With Strings From the '50s & '60s
Bobby Vee and the Shadows first came to fame as the band that stepped in for Buddy Holly the day after his tragic plane crash, and then went on to score 10 Top 20 hits. Now, the Shadows' original member Dick Dunkirk salutes the orchestral arrangements of those great '50s and '60s songs, with string-filled renditions of their own million-selling singles, along with those by Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and others. You'll hear the Shadows' smashes, "Rubber Ball," "Devil or Angel" and "Take Good Care of My Baby," plus Holly's "It Doesn't Matter Anymore" and "Raining in My Heart," and Roy Orbison's "Only the Lonely" and "Crying," among many others. The Shadows' tribute also shines a spotlight on Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Gene Pitney, the famed singer-songwriter who had hits with movie themes like "Town Without Pity" and "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance."
