The Prince and the Pauper, a Children's Production
Wakefield Repertory Theatre's stage adaptation of Mark Twain's novel The Prince and the Pauper is a lively musical adventure featuring a middle-school cast. Two young lookalikes, Tom Canty, a poor boy from a London slum, and Prince Edward, son of the famous Henry VIII of England, exchange places for what is meant to be "only an hour or two." It's when they're supposed to switch back that the fun really begins. Not only an entertaining show, The Prince and the Pauper also shares an important message about loving ourselves the way we are. The show is directed by Adam Schuler and musically directed by Katrina Faulstich. Children entering grades 5-9 from Melrose, Wakefield, Lynn, Saugus, Reading, Lynnfield and Winchester will be featured in the musical.
