The Minneapolis Jewish Humor Festival presents comedian Jeff Applebaum. After more than 20 years in California, this New York City native is finally learning to speak English. Applebaum's comedy examines his life experiences, which include being the only white kid on his Little League team in Queens, having a Chinese wife who orders from take-out menus in fluent Mandarin, and raising a teen son who calls himself "Jewnese" because he says it sounds better than "Chine-ish." Jeff recently made his national TV debut on CBS as a comedian on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
. He has also opened for and performed with such comic legends as Robert Klein, Richard Lewis, Robin Williams, Kevin Pollak and Jake Johannsen. Applebaum will be joined by special guest Neal Karlen, the hilariously neurotic local writer and author of Shanda: The Making and Breaking of a Self-Loathing Jew and The Story of Yiddish
