The Singers might be one of the most modestly named choral ensembles in the country. Equipped with voices finer than any man-made instrument, The Singers have captured the ears -- and hearts -- of music lovers in the first decade of their existence. To celebrate their 10th anniversary, the chorus now presents Shining Night, a spectacular concert at the Cowles Center. Be swept away by Morten Lauridsen's Les Chansons des Roses and Benjamin Britten's Five Flower Songs and revel in the beauty of John Tavener's Funeral Ikos. To round out this varied and exhilarating program, The Singers will once again dip into the rich trove of American folk songs and spirituals. Experience why this talented group has called "easily one of the best choral ensembles in America." Learn More

Third time I've seen this presentation in the past 10 years or so, and I loved it every time. But, honestly, I could hear a concert version with the chorus and the three soloists--especially the amazing Bradley Greenwald--without the dancing. Some of the dancers seemed shaky and they weren't always on the same beat.
