This excursion highlights the Gilded Age mansions that populate this elite neighborhood, while the friendly and knowledgeable guides share the stories of both the architects who built them and the families that resided within these imposing structures. The social history of the area and current preservation issues will also be topics of discussion on this leisurely stroll, which begins outside the Hill House and ends outside the Cathedral of St. Paul. The Minneapolis Queen riverboat ride was fun. We enjoyed learning about the area and going through the locks. It was a little disappointing that the riverboat was out of commission due to mechanical difficulties and we had to ride on the Paradise Lady. While it was a very nice boat, it didn't have the character of the riverboat. We also were unable to hear some of the narration in certain parts of the boat. Overall we had a great experience.
