Steel Kiss: Powerful One-Act Drama Explores Violence and Intolerance
The one-act drama Steel Kiss explores the origins of hate, intolerance and violence toward women, minorities, gays, lesbians and transgendered persons. Reprised from the Minnesota Fringe Festival and staged as the state prepares to vote on a permanent same-sex marriage ban, playwright Robin Fulford's Steel Kiss centers on the brutal 1985 murder of a gay man in a Toronto park by four young men. In this innovative and probing production, the quartet of actors who play the perpetrators also take on the roles of their parents, preachers, police and even the victim. A facilitated discussion of relevant issues follows each performance.
