Two '90s rock heavyweights join forces. Counting Crows rose to prominence in 1994 with the release of their hit "Mr. Jones," highlighted by lead singer Adam Duritz's expressive vocals. The band's addictive melodies have spawned hits like "Round Here," "A Long December" and "Hanginaround," as well as the Oscar-nominated "Accidentally in Love" from Shrek 2
. They're also known for reinventing songs and giving new life to covers as part of their legendary live performances. In the mid-90s, Live became one of the biggest alternative rock bands in America selling 8 million copies of Throwing Copper
and reaching the top 5 of the Billboard
alternative charts with "Lightning Crashes," "Selling the Drama," "Lakini's Juice," "Turn My Head," "All Over You" and "The Dolphin's Cry." Iconic singer Ed Kowalczyk left the band for a bit, but rejoined the original lineup in 2017. Don't miss the bands on tour when they come to Ironstone Amphitheatre in Murphys.
