With their Southern-fried hit "Jim Dandy" (heard in the film Dazed & Confused
), Black Oak Arkansas sold millions of albums while headlining stadiums across the country with openers like Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith and the Eagles. The first band featuring three guitarists, Black Oak Arkansas rocks the house with monster guitar riffs, an infectious "psycho-boogie" beat, and the booze-soaked swagger of frontman Jim "Dandy" Mangrum. Their latest release features new songs plus 10 previously unreleased tracks from their golden era produced by the legendary Tom Dowd (Eric Clapton, Allman Brothers). Opening the night is Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and original Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Atrimus Pyle, whose Artimus Pyle Band is the ultimate Skynyrd tribute, playing note-for-note renditions of hits like "Freebird," "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Gimme Three Steps."
