House Party Reunion Concert: Kid 'N Play and Full Force
The stars of the hugely popular 1990s comedy movie series House Party are back together on one bill for a reunion concert promising special guest appearances, songs from the film's Top 20 soundtrack album and tunes from Full Force's new disc With Love From Our Friends. The hip-hop duo Kid 'n Play, otherwise known as Christopher "Play" Martin and Christopher "Kid" Reid, were already popular recording artists, with hit singles like "Funhouse" and "Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody," when director Reginald Hudlin tapped them to star in his 1990 movie. Sporting his signature sky-high fade, Kid plays a teen who sneaks out to go to a party, where he runs into a trio of bad guys, played by members of the successful R&B quintet Full Force. That group had its own hit single with "All in My Mind," but may be better known as writer/producers for Rihanna, Backstreet Boys, Selena, Britney Spears, The Black Eyed Peas and others.
