A harrowing struggle for survival on the harsh streets of New York City, Lucky is a documentary film that takes an intimate look at Lucky Torres, a homeless mother masked in tattoos who longs to rise from a life of darkness. Growing up as an orphan, Lucky moved from shelter to shelter, and now she struggles to provide for herself and her young son. The film follows her daily grind, teetering between dreams and despair as she searches for stability. After the screening, filmmaker Laura Checkoway and Lucky will be available to answer questions.
