First let me say I booked this show because I was in town with my family on Monday night when theatre offerings are quite limited as most theaters are dark. I also loved the fact that the venue was in the west village so had an excuse to be in one of my favorite neighborhoods. Given that this was a booking of conveniance I had pretty low expectations and had predicted that the show was likely to be quite hokey. I thought I would take one for the team and hoped the show would at least appeal to my kids (ages 12 and 15). I also assumed the run time would be an hour and that I could suffer through almost anything for an hour.
I am happy to report that my predictions were as far off the mark as they could possibly be. The show runs in a fashion quite similar to a comedy club. They have an MC, a warm up magician, a line up of several magicians, and then the headliner. The performers change weekly. There were top quality mind boggling tricks from all the magicians as well as excellent comedy with the entire family laughing uncontrollably on multiple occasions throughout the show. There is an intermission during which you can choose to watch one of three up close slight of hand performers at the front on stage, at the back of the theatre, or in the lobby. The performer I watched was terrific and hilarious. I was having so much fun I wished intermission had been 45 minutes and not 15. The run time with intermission was over 2 hours but seemed to go by in a flash. You know it was a great evening when the show ends and you wish it would just go on. I could have sat for another hour or more without blinking.
I highly recommend this show to families and adults alike. It was an unexpectedly delightful and entertaining evening that competed for best evening during a week in which we also saw three Broadway shows. At $25/ticket the price is a steal particularly given the price of Broadway (approximately $150/ticket or $75/ticket if you score tickets at TKTS). It may be the best entertainment deal in town! Go, have a great time, and support a form of entertainment that does not get much play in NYC.

Great to be right up close for a magic show, but the small theater makes every seat pretty close to the stage. Well paced and very entertaining with 4 acts plus an MC and three magicians performing sleight of hand and card tricks in the aisles...continued
