Pupy y Los Que Son Son: Cuban Music Legend's Big Band
César "Pupy" Pedroso is one of the key figures not only in timba, but in the last 30 years of Cuban pop music. As well as being one Cuba's best and most prolific composers, Pedroso has revolutionized the art of salsa piano playing. Starting his career with Orquesta Revé, known for their revolutionary blend of Cuban son and American rock music, he became a founding member of Los Van Van in the late '60s. For more than 30 years, he played piano and composed hit songs for Cuba's most popular band before leaving to start his own band. Pupy y Los Que Son Son goes back to the roots of Cuban dance music, with tight big band arrangements and irresistible rhythms.
