Queerly is a festival that looks at life through lavender-colored glasses, featuring performers from New York City and beyond for a gender-liminal, super-gay, non-conformist, totally butch, aggressively femme and subversive AF celebration of all things LGBTQA (LMNOP). Performed by Michael Doshier, Johnny Darlin is an intimate live-music meditation on the various boys in Johnny's life: from his first love, to his father, to the LGBTQ+ friends he grew up closeted alongside in the Bible Belt of suburban Arkansas. It's a larger coming-to-terms with how any and all queer people make sense of the important figures that enter and exit their lives as they grow into the soul they are meant to be. See this show of "songs about boys" at New York City's Kraine Theater.
