B.B. King Blues Club hosts a concert tribute to the Sun Records label and its legendary artists, featuring Eddie Clendening and the Blue Ribbon Boys. Founded in Memphis in 1952, Sun released rockabilly, country and R&B records by the likes of Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Rufus Thomas, Charlie Rich and Conway Twitty. When he's not leading the Blue Ribbon Boys, Clendening is a star actor who originated the role of Elvis Presley in the Tony-winning Broadway musical Million Dollar Quartet
, and also played Johnny Cash in the show Ring of Fire
. The concert also feaures guest performer Gene Casey, best known as the frontman of Long Island roots-rockers The Lone Sharks, and DJs spinning classic '50s and '60s records.
