Travis Sullivan's Bjorkestra Plays Blue Note Jazz Festival
The Blue Note Jazz Festival at Highline Ballroom welcomes back Travis Sullivan's Bjorkestra, famed for morphing the music of famed Icelandic singer Bjork into ultra-danceable big-band arrangements, accompanied by live vocals. Conceived and conducted by alto saxophonist Travis Sullivan, this 18-piece, genre-bending ensemble weaves together the pop-music artistry of the Nordic chanteuse -- known for her '90s hits like "Human Behaviour" -- with the improvisational feel of classic and modern jazz. Bjorkestra has been a hit at jazz festivals all over the world, and even released a CD entitled Enjoy.
