This brand new off-Broadway musical follows inifluential blues man Blind Lemon Jefferson to the crossroads and beyond, exploring the life of the '20s-era singer-guitarist who became known as the "Father of the Texas Blues" for classics like "Black Snake Moan" and "See That My Grave Is Kept Clean." In Lonesome Blues, a follow-up to the successsul Blind Lemon Blues, Akin Babatundé portrays more than ten different characters in songs and monologues that bring Jefferson and his musical contemporaries like Blind Willie Johnson, Lillian Glinn, Hattie Hudson, Bobbie Cadillac and Lead Belly to vibrant life at New York's York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's.
