"The Girl From Ipanema" Jazz, Jobim & Bossa Nova
COMP - $10*
In 1962, Antonio Carlos "Tom" Jobim wrote "The Girl From Ipanema," a sultry bossa nova song about a pretty girl from Rio de Janeiro that has since gone on to become one of the most recognized and recorded songs in history. On the 55th anniversary of the song's groundbreaking Grammy win, an ensemble made up of New York's top contemporary musicians at New York's Club Bonafide pay homage to the song and Jobim's Brazilian-jazz legacy. Vocalist Julie Eigenberg (aka Julie E.) joins guitar master Andres Laprida and Helio Schiavo in this one-of-a-kind event that celebrates the life and sounds of the iconic bossa nova composer.
