Grammy-winning saxophonist, bandleader and composer Kenny Garrett joins Wynton Marsalis, trombonists Chris Crenshaw and Vincent Gardner, and the entire Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra for a pair of concerts that pay tribute to pianist and Garrett contemporary Mulgrew Miller, who passed in May 2013. Garrett and Miller were both members of the some of the most influential bands of their generation, including stints with Mercer Ellington and Woody Shaw, along with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. One of the most prolific sidemen of the era, Miller appeared on a few hundred recordings, and released 15 solo discs. Garrett gained famed as a member of Miles Davis' crew, before becoming a soloist and bandleader. He's been named Best Alto Saxophonist in eight annual DownBeat
