Philharmonia Orchestra of New York's La Traviata
Philharmonia Orchestra of New York (PONY), under maestro Atsushi Yamada, presents Verdi's timeless masterpiece in a totally new dimension at the Rose Theater. In a first for classical music, La Traviata is performed with holographic imaging to evoke setting and action. This operatic favorite takes audiences on a gripping journey of passionate romance and callous brawling, told through music performed by world-class singers and orchestra with striking 3-D settings of contemporary New York projected on a mega screen behind them. Renee Fleming Award-winner Karen Chia-ling Ho plays Violetta. Alex Richardson, who made his recent Metropolitan Opera debut in Tristan und Isolde, plays Alfredo, and Robert Kerr is Germont, acclaimed by The New York Times for "making words matter."
