The Big Funk by Pulitzer Prize Winner John Patrick Shanley
An absurd comedy, The Big Funk opens to find its main characters arguing over which of them is the hero of the story. There's an apparently pregnant woman who's informed that she's due the next day; her knife-throwing, circus performer husband; his actor friend who wears a drip-dry suit so he can give a woman he's just met a bath; a soulmate-seeking campaign manager and a guy who has a thing for petroleum jelly. Each performance of this odd tale -- penned by Pulitzer Prize- and Academy Award-winning writer John Patrick Shanley (Moonstruck, Doubt: A Parable) -- features live music from The Roly Polys.
