The Struggle To Forgive: A Stunning New Musical/Dramatic Work
Join the Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra and soloists Mikaela Bennett, Sarah Hetzel and Jorell Williams for a special evening at New York's Schimmel Center. The Struggle To Forgive: Confronting Gun Violence in America is a new musical and dramatic work that hauntingly gives voice to the victims of the gun debate. The libretto is based on audio, video and written accounts of those living with the aftermath of gun violence or the loss of a loved one. A post-show discussion is held following the performance with Gary S. Fagin and the three soloists, focusing on the creation and inspiration of the piece, in addition to recounting the artists' personal experiences with gun violence, and how communities, cultural groups and the nation as a whole can seek healing from the impact of gun violence through art.
