The Gambler's Daughter: World Premiere of High Stakes Drama
They say "you can't go home again," but what if you could? Paul North's new play The Gambler's Daughter explores what happens when a woman visits her father for the first time in seven years. Both Mary and her father Lloyd are good with numbers -- Mary as an actuary, Lloyd as a cardsharp -- and both have plenty of surprises up their sleeves. First, Mary surprises Lloyd with her fiancé. Not to be outdone, Lloyd introduces Mary to Elaine, his live-in "companion," as well as Willy, a mathematically gifted teenager who may (or may not) be Mary's half-brother. The stakes could not be higher in this witty but tender-hearted world premiere by the Eclectic Theatre Company. The odds are excellent that you'll long remember The Gambler's Daughter.
