Irish History Comes Alive in One-Woman Show
This new solo show offers an updated take on the traditional Irish storyteller, also known as the seanchaí, as Savanna Rae spins some engaging tales based on a group of ferocious, fragile and funny ancient women from the Emerald Isle. Rae wrote and performs in Daughters of Ire, which features a group of women from Ireland's Ulster Cycle -- including Scathach, Queen Medb and Dierdre of the Sorrows. Rae brings these characters to life as they face worlds caught up in violence, in this show at the Open Door Theater in Oak Park.
