"Co-ordinate" a date to see John Witherspoon live in person. One of the nation's top stand-up headliners, he's also a popular actor, playing eccentric, short-tempered dads in the Friday series of films, as well as TV's The Wayans Brothers and The Boondocks. He's made more than a dozen appearances on the Late Show with David Letterman, and his TV credits range from The Richard Pryor Show in 1977 to Hill Street Blues, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and L.A. Law. Witherspoon's comedy draws from personal experience and observation, and is delivered in his unique and hilarious style. Learn More

I have heard Hal Sparks on the radio many times but I had no idea how hysterically funny he was until we saw him live at the Improv last night. The set was fairly lengthy which gave us more time to enjoy his intelligent wit. Hal Sparks clearly respects his audience. He doesn't talk down to people but he does expect a certain level of intelligence and knowledge that goes with that. He doesn't give people a pass for ignorance. By the end of the evening my stomach hurt from the constant laughter and I nearly peed my pants.
I place him on par with George Carlin, Robin Williams and early Bill Cosby.
