A thoroughly inventive presentation of Steinbeck's saga, with plenty of humor thrown in. Great performances and a fantastic set. The surroundings are stunning and the hooting owls make it hard to believe the freeway is just over the hill.

I love the improvements at Cal Shakes, and the wine and cheese tasting were an added bonus. Too bad the adaptation from Steinbeck did not satisfy. I did not care enough about the story to come back after intermission.

This was very loooong. It was a bunch of mini-plays all wrapped into one. Some of the sections were really good and well acted. I really liked the actress that played the school teacher and the scenario with the mother and mentally unstable...continued
