Pasadena Symphony Performs The Rite of Spring, Bernstein and Shostakovich
$70.00 - $85.00
$35.00 - $42.00*
Igor Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring is a fascinating and magnificent piece of music. Touching on bits of innovation from the history of music, the revolutionary work helped mark the beginning of the 20th century. When the piece premiered in 1913, Stravinsky's avant-garde score caused a riot in the audience and changed the course of classical music. Celebrating its 100th anniversary year, the Pasadena Symphony will perform this glorious herald of modern music. The program will also feature violinist, Anne Akiko Meyers joining the symphony for Leonard Bernstein's Serenade, a musical journey through Plato's dialogue, Symposium. The concert will open with Dmitri Shostakovich's Festive Overture.
