More Information

Tony T. Roberts’ hard-hitting, energetic style of comedy has catapulted him into the top ranks of the comedy circuit.

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan on Seven Mile, Tony is the oldest son of Annette Roberts, and the only son of his father Alvin Askew. He graduated from Henry Ford High School and then went into the Army were he spent 10 years of service. Some have referred to Tony as the “Sergeant of Comedy.”

After leaving the service, and going from job to job, Perry, a good friend of Tony’s, dared him to get on stage and try is hand at stand-up comedy. Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle in Royal Oak, Michigan is where Tony first graced the stage, but Tony recalls that night being everything but graceful.

A favorite of club owners for his improvisational skills and quick wit, Tony has toured the nation with his stand-up comedy in all the major night clubs across the county. Tony has also toured nationally with the stage plays_ If These Hips Could Talk and Ain’t Nothing Like Family._ He has also toured internationally with his stand-up comedy, and one of his more notable accomplishments was a 2009 nomination from the UK for Best International Comic.
