Famed Polish Performer Christopher Vened Premieres Solo Work: Human Identity
One of the most sacred taboos in theater is broken when mime and spoken word unite in Human Identity, a solo show from Christopher Vened. A star of Henryk Tomaszewski's world-famous Wroclaw Pantomime Theater, Vened was the toast of the Eastern European theater scene until he daringly defected while on tour in the West. In the decades since, he's become an influential force in the worlds of performance and training, writing a key textbook and teaching at UCLA. His latest piece of "monodrama theatre" is nothing less than a quest to figure out the meaning of human identity. Funny, inventive and eye-opening, Human Identity has its world premiere at the CoHo Theatre.
