With a pop-rock score from the legendary Elton John and lyrics written by his Lion King collaborator (the Academy, Tony and Grammy Award-winning Tim Rice), comes Aida. This massively crowd-pleasing musical delivers a contemporary spin on the classic tale of a forbidden love affair between an enslaved Nubian princess and an Egyptian soldier. As their taboo love grows in the face of cultural differences and the pressures of their warring nations, these young lovers must face death itself in order to be together. Winner of four Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score, Aida is filled with passionate storytelling, exuberant dancing and positively world-class staging and singing. Learn More

What a TERRIFIC and WELL DONE show. Can't believe there hasn't been more publicity about this fantastic production. And the fact that the theater wasn't sold out is sad, because Portland theater goers are missing out on one of the best Christmas holiday performances I have ever.. Quality of acting & singing, especially Jordan Stanley (George Bailey), John Branch (Mr. Potter), and Michael Mitchel (Clarence) - were TOP NOTCH. And to top it off - the book, music and lyrics are by Portland area talent. GO SEE THIS PLAY ... you won't be disappointed!
