Dance Performance Inspired By Italian Boxing Film Rocco and His Brothers
Dancers become boxers, boxers become dancers, and the audience has a ringside seat for all the drama in ROCCO. Inspired by the 1960 Italian film Rocco and His Brothers, ROCCO focuses on the almost-Biblical rivalry (think Cain and Abel) between Rocco and his brother, Simone, a boxer. When Rocco and Simone both fall in love with the same woman, an epic fight between good and evil ensues in this exciting performance. ROCCO is choreographed by renowned artists Emio Greco and Pieter Scholten, artistic directors for the International Choreographic Arts Centre Amsterdam City Company and is making its U.S. premiere at Newmark Theatre.
