This one-act version of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland
and Through the Looking Glass
contains multi-media effects and is choreographed by former American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Charles Bennett. Set to a collage of selected compositions from composers Luigi Boccherini, Louis Moreau Gottschalk, Kling, Joseph Lanner, Joseph Strauss and Gioacchino Rossini, the ballet finds Alice, the White Rabbit, the Red Queen, the March Hare and the Mad Hatter on a timeless adventure in Wonderland. California Ballet uses its seasoned dancers for the principal roles while upper division students take on the roles of the King, Queen and Jack of Hearts and Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee. Also on the program is Wayne Davis' elegant Souvenir
, set to music by Tchaikovsky. The audience is invited to meet the cast in the lobby after the show.
