Bay Area jazz legend Pete Escovedo comes to Angelicas with his sextet, which includes his son Juan, smooth jazz guitarist Ray Obiedo and Bay Area artists Bob Karty, David Belove and Phil Hawkins. The master percussionist's music seamlessly flows among Latin jazz, salsa, funk and R&B styles. In addition to his many years as a bandleader, Pete also spent three years as a member of the group Santana, and is the father of pop star Sheila E. Pete Escovedo has long been a fixture of the San Francisco music scene, and is known as the patriarch of a talented musical family. The mission of Caminos Flamencos is to create and present contemporary, traditional and theatrical dance programs showcasing artists from Spain and the U.S., which reflect the changing face of flamenco in the 21st century.
