Charming Romantic Comedy Crossing Delancey Crosses Generations
Renton Civic Theatre presents the romantic comedy Crossing Delancey. In this charming play by Susan Sandler, Izzy is a modern young woman who lives alone and works in a book shop in Manhattan -- and yearns to trade her traditional Jewish upbringing for the slick glamour of Manhattan's literary scene. When she's not pining after a handsome author, she's visiting her beloved feisty and sharp-witted grandmother "Bubbie." Generations and cultures clash as Bubbie, in her old-world wisdom, encourages Izzy to find real happiness by choosing the nice neighborhood pickle salesman over the sophisticated author. The conflict is resolved with a generous dose of humor, affection and wisdom. Bill Huls directs.
