Moon Over Buffalo: A Zany Backstage Comedy
Mistaken identities, outrageous plot twists, slapstick comedy and a slew of self-obsessed performers desperately trying to keep things from falling apart: It's all in a day's work for master of the period-perfect farce Ken Ludwig (Lend Me a Tenor). In this fast-paced comedy set in 1953 Buffalo, a husband-and-wife acting team with a crumbling marriage struggle to keep their repertory ensemble together so that famed director Frank Capra can see them perform -- which they hope might be their ticket to Broadway. But a very pregnant ingenue, a drunk leading man and a surprise visit from their daughter (who's engaged but still in love with the stage manager), ensure that things quickly go horribly -- and hilariously -- wrong. Catch this delightful comedy at Sandra R. Courtney Community Playhouse courtesy of the Rialto Community Players.
