This was a great way to spend an afternoon...even being a long time resident of San Diego I learned a few things. The amount of food was much more than anticipated compared to other city walking tours I have done. Being a bit of a history buff I would have liked to hear more about the buildings and the history of the Gaslamp. The Goldstar price was definitely worth the value, probably would not recommend paying full price.

Excellent guide --extremely well qualified. I live in San Diego and thoroughly enjoyed a pleasant, delicious, and informative. It opened my eyes to places I knew but never really saw as being related to the city's history. Great for San Diegans...continued

I have lived in San Diego or years but never saw the details of the Gaslamp like we did during our walking tour. The history was really interesting - learning about the way the city treated some of its citizens was enlightening. The restaurants we...continued
The sounds of ship horns in the bay approach the wharf, retail clerks sweep their stoops, horses trot along the dirt streets, and women hoot at sailors from tiny windows. These are the sounds of San Diego back in the tail end of the 19th century.
Travel into a world of scandal and debauchery as your guide leads you through the streets of a famous Stingaree District, formerly known as one of the main red light districts in Southern California with more than 120 brothels at one point in time. The tales of the past are so funny they will blow your mind! Get to know the roots of why this area has only recently been safe enough to walk through at night, and is today the main nightlife and dining destination in San Diego.
The Gaslamp Quarter is home to more than 100 unique restaurants and bars, and boasts a quaint small-town feel. The Brothels, Bites, and Booze tour will allow you to experience a number of cuisines and restaurants for the ultimate experience of Downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter.
As you walk along the brick streets marveling at the architecture, So Diego Tours will lead you to some of the best restaurants in the Gaslamp Quarter. Experience the diversity of the city by tasting ethnic cuisine from Indian curry, to homemade Italian meatballs, and Mexican tacos. You will even stop at a brewery, where you will learn how beer is made as you sample 4-7 freshly brewed beers.
